After a hard-fought series of games over the past two weekends, Delta College's women's soccer team has been crowned the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) Region XIX B Champions, earning a spot in the national tournament that will run Thursday, November 9 through Sunday, November 12 at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, New York.

Delta won both of its games during the regional series on Saturday, October 21 and Saturday, October 28 at community colleges in New Jersey. Freshman Skylar Eckert of Clio was named Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Delta scored a 2–0 victory on Thursday, November 9 over Madison College of Wisconsin, advancing to the final four of the NJCAA Division III national tournament.

In the second game of the tournament, Delta's women's soccer team played a tough game against the number one ranking team, Herkimer College of New York on Friday, November 10. They were defeated with a final score of 3-4.

In the final game, Delta's women's soccer team brought home the third place national championship trophy after a tie game on Sunday, November 12 against Rowan College at Gloucester County of New Jersey.

"Co-head coaches, Paul Stenglein and Brad Amey, have done a great job of preparing our young ladies for a chance to be the national champions. We will face the toughest competition all year and I know our preparation has this team ready to go. We are so proud of their composure, leadership, teamwork and never-quite attitude they have shown all year. It’s an exciting time for Delta Athletics and our women’s soccer team! Go Pioneers!" says Shelly Raube, Delta College Athletic Director.

Delta athletes have had a great year, with women's soccer heading to the national finals and the men's baseball team competing in the World Series this past spring.
