COMPASS -- Placement Testing
No COMPASS Testing available on the following dates due to maintenance of the program:

General Information
COMPASS is administered in the Delta College Testing Center (A133) to students that have applied and been admitted to Delta College. The COMPASS placement exam is designed to help students succeed. Exam scores help to determine which courses are most appropriate for the student's current level of knowledge and skills. Both academic strengths and weaknesses are identified. The exam evaluates writing, reading and math skills.
What You Need to Know Before Testing/Retesting
- Exam administered in the Testing Center, A133.
- Exam available on a "walk-in" basis during office hours.
- Exam is not timed; most individuals complete it in 1-1/2 hours.
- Exam is a computerized exam using minimal computer skills.
- Photo ID required (i.e., driver's license, state ID, passport, high school ID, etc.).
- Students may only test 3 times per subject within a 1 year period.
- Students may retest on any one or all three subjects.
- Students must wait until the next business day after taking a COMPASS test before retesting.
- Fee Structure
- 1st test session -- FREE
- More than 3 years since last test session -- FREE
- Less than 3 years since last test session -- $10 (paid at time of testing)
- Retest fees are non-refundable and non-transferable

Ability to Benefit
- Qualification: Individuals applying for Financial Aid who do not have a GED or high school diploma
- Required to test in all three subjects (writing, reading, and math) in one sitting
- Special application must be completed prior to test. Applications available at the Testing Center
- Effective July 1, 2012 COMPASS will no longer be used for Ability to Benefit
Other COMPASS Requests and Services
- Remote Testing: Available for many students living some distance from the main campus -- COMPASS Remote Services.
- Send Scores Off-Campus: Want your Delta scores sent to another college or university, complete and submit the Score Request Form via mail, fax or in person to the Testing Center.
- Request Scores Sent to Delta: Contact your college or university; request an official copy be sent directly from the college or university to Delta College Testing Center via mail or fax:
