Beginning Navigation

What will you do when your GPS stops working? The experts all agree that responsible boaters need to have a basic knowledge of navigation techniques.

This classroom experience will concentrate on basic dead reckoning. Topics include compass use, chart reading, plotting the course upon the chart, use of the hand bearing compass, and distance-speed-time calculations and more. This is a beginning level navigation class. Navigation tools are provided for you to use in class, and a full size training chart is yours to keep. Bring a lunch. Capacity 8 students.
