Solar Power for Urban Agriculture
Are you an Urban Farmer wondering if solar power is right for you? Urban agriculture, as well as conventional agriculture, frequently needs power that can be effectively met using solar power systems. This 3 hour course will review the basic characteristics of solar power to help you recognize when solar power may be preferred. These solar power systems may be simple systems without batteries, systems with batteries, or systems supported by generators, wind turbines, or the grid. The topics also include the performance to be expected, the various costs and maintenance involved, safety, and other factors to be considered. A range of potential urban agriculture applications will be explored.
