Welding

Welding

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Welding can be used in a variety of areas. It is used to reconstruct and repair parts of automobiles and machinery. Welding can also be used in creative expression; sculptures, decorative objects and ornaments, and home fix-it projects. This course is designed for the arts enthusiast, or the welder who would like to refresh themselves.

This course covers the welding equipment functions, operation, and safety. Students will learn how to properly set-up the equipment, prepare materials, make continuous welds in a variety of positions, make the proper bead size and weld size, weld thin gauge steel, heat/temperature control factors, and become familiar with welding terms and definitions.

Students will perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding; Shielded Metal Arc Welding, MIG – Steel plate, Stick Welding, TIG, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting. 

 

What kind of certification will I receive?

After successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate from Delta College. This course does not lead to certification.
