Vascular Technician Extracranial Cerebrovascular & Peripheral Venous
Today’s medical facilities are encouraging cross training in many fields. Ultrasound is no exception. Many general ultrasound technologists have been required to cross train in vascular and cardiac ultrasound. Delta College is offering a Vascular Sonography class that will educate the sonographer on how to perform both Extracranial Cerebrovascular and Peripheral Venous ultrasounds. With completion of this course the sonographer will have an understanding of the pertinent vascular anatomy, hemodynamics and the effects of pathology on blood flow, surgical interventions and treatment of disease and will prove competency through hands on scanning. This class will touch on ICAVL Accreditation, vascular testing protocols and laboratory management concepts.
The ARDMS Vascular Technology exam outline will serve as a guideline for class content. Broadening your sonography skills will make you a more marketable technologist and can significantly increase your pay scale. A Certificate of Completion will be offered for passing this class.
The Delta College LifeLong Learning Vascular Technician program is approved for 18.50 CME credits by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. (Approval number 7293)
Note: This is not a review course for the ARDMS board exam. Prerequisites: This class is being offered to registry eligible sonographers, sonography program graduates and current registered technologists in diagnostic medical sonography.
