Infection Control “Hands On” Workshop
This clinic will consider current concepts and available product approaches in the application of infection control precautions. Choices include a wide variety of items including hand hygiene antiseptics, single-use disposables, and personal protective equipment, (i.e. glove technologies, masks, eye wear, and gowns). Multiple chemical solutions are also discussed regarding their intended use on inanimate surfaces or as immersion sterilants.
The major emphasis of this presentation will consider application of these and other types of infection control materials in the light of appropriate documented knowledge. Potential consequences and implications of misuse of representative items will also be discussed in effort to allow treatment care providers opportunity to get maximal effectiveness from their infection control efforts.
