Our aPHR™ certification exam preparation has been created using the aPHR™ exam content outline which details the knowledge needed by those performing early HR career roles. In just 7 weeks you’ll learn essential practices in the HR field such as HR Operations, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Human Resource Development and Retention, Employee Relations, as well as Health, Safety and Security. Instructor Spotlight

Brent Chartier, MSA, is employed as an adjunct faculty member both at Delta College and at Macomb Community College, Clinton Township, MI, and teaches HR for the Goldman Sach’s 10,000 Small Business (GS10KSB) entrepreneurial training initiative at Wayne State University, Detroit. He began his career in 1985, working in the alcohol/drug abuse and mental health treatment field. When he learned of the impact of employee behavioral problems on business, he began work in the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) field, serving as editor of a trade publication for EAP professionals and speaking across the country on ways in which employers could ensure productive, drug-free work environments. His work led him to be an invited speaker to the International Academy of Management and to the role of Program Coordinator of the State of Michigan Health Professional Recovery Program, the program to assist impaired healthcare professionals in reaching full-functioning recovery. His HR experience spans from directorship of an HR department for a Tier 1 auto supplier and an EAP serving 85 client companies to consultative work with several non-profits. He earned a bachelor’s in English from the University of Michigan-Flint and a master of science in administration, HR concentration, from Central Michigan University. A resident of Harrison Township, MI, Brent is a published fiction author and edits dissertations for doctoral students enrolled in the University of Toledo’s Judith Herb College of Education. He’s been with Delta College since 2010.
