Learning Communities Program
Coordinator Position

 

Description of Primary Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop and carry out annual strategic plan of Learning Communities Program;
  • Recruit faculty to teach in learning communities;
  • Develop and conduct professional development activities for faculty and staff;
  • Collaborate with Academic and Student Services Staff to identify student needs and determine how learning communities can meet those needs;
  • Collaborate with Division Chairs to schedule learning communities;
  • Provide direction for and conduct of individual course and program assessment;
  • Chair Learning Communities Advisory Board, coordinating activities of LCAB in approving new learning communities and developing general learning community policies and procedures;
  • Collaborate with Registration Office staff to identify and improve issues related to learning community registration;
  • Promote learning communities to prospective students;
  • Serve as Co-Chair of National Learning Communities Conference, which includes continuous participation in NCLC Planning Committee and responsibilities related to hosting conference at Delta College every 4 years;
  • Communicate with colleges and universities about learning community issues.

Description of Primary Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage learning community cost center (45 14);
  • Coordinate support from Office Professional and Student Workers;
  • Oversee development of flyers and other promotional materials;
  • Report to Academic Dean on program goals and activities.
