Announcements

  • If you are attending Delta College for the Fall 2012 semester, you need to be enrolled in no less than 12 credits throughout the semester. If you choose to enroll in an Internet class, be aware that Immigration limits International students to one Internet class each semester. After classes begin, you will need instructor approval on an overload form (available from the instructor) to enroll in the class.  An instructor may drop you from a course if you do not attend. We are required by federal law to report enrollment information about you to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement throughout the semester. If you need help in selecting courses, see an Advisor or Counselor in D102. If Fall 2012 will be your last semester of enrollment, contact a  DSO regarding some information you need to know. Check your Delta email account on a regular daily basis throughout the semester. The College uses student e-mail addresses to send information to you about registration, tuition refunds, drop/adds, and other important notices.
  • Fall 2012 semester - Online registration for Fall 2012 classes thru MyDelta is currently open for all students.   REGISTER EARLY for best class selection. Payment deadline for Fall semester is Tuesday July 31 at 6 pm. If you have not paid for your classes by payment deadline you will be dropped from them.

  • Help is available for you in Delta College's Counseling Center if you are experiencing school or personal problems and need help sorting them out. Call the office for your Advisor's or Counselor's specific walk-in hours or to make an appointment.

  • Are you planning to return home or travel outside the United States? Be sure to take all required documentation with you prior to your travel outside the United States and have your I-20 properly endorsed on page 3 with the signature of a DSO signed within the last 30 days. If you plan to renew your student visa, review the U.S. Department of State - Student Visa Information website for current visa renewal information. Contact a Designated School Official (DSO) if you have any questions before you leave.
  • All International Students who live or work in the U.S. are required to file a federal income tax form with the United States government whether or not they had any U.S. source of income. Free income tax assistance and other helpful websites are available for students.
  • Scam Alert - Recently Delta College was notified that international students at another Michigan college were targeted by a scam email. The email says it is from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and says the recipient is required to fax an attached non-resident alien tax form to a particular number within one week. The form asks for private information such as Social Security Number, bank account numbers, and requires passport photocopies to be attached. Please be aware of this scam and do not give anyone this information without checking first. If you receive an email like this, please contact a DSO in D102 at Delta College immediately.

  • Loans and Scholarships - A limited number of scholarships are available to Delta College International students through the Honors Program and the Employee-Sponsored Scholarship Program in addition to other opportunities for students who are transferring to Grand Valley State University and Eastern Michigan University. The above links provides information on how to apply and the deadline for applications.
