Tuesday, March 12 - Thursday, March 14 and Monday, March 18
10am - 7pm outside the library
In an effort to raise awareness about the impact of politics on college students, The Democracy Commitment Student Club is holding its "We’ve All Got Issues" campaign.
At the table, Delta students are invited to vote for the issue they would like to see Michigan legislators make a priority. When they do so, they will receive a free "We’ve all got issues" button.
At the end of the campaign, the club will tally up the votes and comments, and use the results to focus their discussions with area lawmakers during a trip to Lansing on Wednesday, March 20. Club members and other Delta students will be meeting with Rep. Stacy Erwin-Oakes, Rep. Jim Stamas, Rep. Charlie Brunner, and Sen. John Moolenaar.
"The club thought this would be a great way to make the voices of Delta College students heard," said club president Justin Machelski. "By us taking their voices and going directly to the capital, we are empowering them."
