The Great Lakes Bay Area Manufacturers Association estimates that in the next few years more than 500 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Tool positions will be available in the Great Lakes Bay with few qualified candidates. Delta College, in partnership with the Great Lakes Bay Area Manufacturers Association and Michigan Works!, has put together an Accelerated CNC Machine Tool Program to prepare students for entry into this growing job field.
"Delta College has worked closely with local employers to build a program that serves their needs," said Terry Morse, Assistant Professor and CNC Program Coordinator. "Students in this program will get specific training in both manual and CNC machining, and also have an opportunity to participate in a job shadow experience with local manufacturers."
The capacity for this training program is limited to 12 students for winter (January), 24 for spring and 24 for summer.
