TAX SHELTERED ANNUITIES

Delta College offers all full and part-time employees (excluding student workers) the opportunity to participate in a Tax Deferred Annuity Program. A tax deferred annuity is an investment that allows you to supplement your retirement income by deferring a portion of your current salary. Monies deferred are invested in instruments of your choice (i.e. time certificates, stock, bonds, etc.). Monies deferred are not subject to income tax in the year of deferral, they are taxed when withdrawn from the program. You may initiate or amend your annuity contract at any time during the year.

To request a change or to initiate a new tax sheltered annuity deduction, please use the Delta College 403(b) Retirement Plan Salary Reduction Agreement for Elective Deferral. Do NOT submit this agreement unless you have established an account with the vendor under the Delta College 403(b) Retirement Plan. Submit completed agreements to the Finance Office, B-118. Allow up to two payroll periods for these changes to be reflected in your paycheck.
