Delta College's Logo
As the Delta College Summer Conservatory of Music and Festival of Arts was developed in 1964, a printed program was also written. Noting the beauty of Delta College’s Central Courtyard fountain, Dr. Samuel Jones suggested using it as inspiration for the artwork for the program’s cover.
Under President Donald J. Carlyon’s direction, Martin (Mart) Eichenger was brought in to help. He worked for Church & Guisewite Advertising in Midland and was
responsible for development of Delta College’s current logo design, which was seen for the first time in 1964.
Mr. Eichinger was also familiar with Delta College, since his uncle lived in Delta College’s Farmhouse (now the Carlyon Farmhouse) prior to the College being built. And, his son, also named Martin, was employed in Delta College’s marketing department in the early 1970s.
