Delta Foundation's Fiscal Health
Independent financial audits of all of our programs – including the Delta College Foundation, Delta College Quality Public Broadcasting, federal and state grants, and more – are always clean. They are a strong affirmation to the voters of Bay, Midland and Saginaw Counties that donations and taxpayer dollars are well-managed and being spent exactly as promised.
Delta College uses funds wisely to make the greatest impact on students. Our 2007-2008 operating budget is $92 million; this includes $61 million of general fund dollars, which is the primary operational fund.
More than 7,500 individuals, companies and foundations from the private sector contributed over $2.8 million to Delta College. These donations were used to support student scholarships and other activities, as well as the College’s public broadcasting stations. Over the past decade, Delta College has ranked as one of the top community colleges nationally in its fundraising efforts.
In addition, we have established – with the support of thousands of individuals, companies and foundations from the private sector who believe in investing in students – an Endowment Fund (with a current market value of more than $12 million) to assist with program needs and provide students with financial help through scholarships.
Economic impact studies show that more than 80 percent of our graduates remain in the Tri-County area, with the college contributing more than $38.9 million annually to the regional economy through employee earnings and college expenditures. The College serves as an economic catalyst for the Tri-Counties and beyond.
