Delta College Alumni Leadership Board

The Delta College Foundation supports an alumni relations program.  The goals are to reach out to all of the College’s graduates, update them on important news and activities, maintain and enhance relationships, and to get the alumni more involved with the College.

An Alumni Leadership Board was formalized in November 2007 to assist the College in developing the program. Current members of the group are:

At its May 14, 2009, the Alumni Leadership Board approved the following Strategic Plan:

VISION: Build a sustainable network of Delta College alumni to enhance our local community.

MISSION: Strengthen the relationships of alumni through the utilization of the College's upcoming 50th anniversary in 2011.

GOAL AREAS

* Create a marketing and communications plan to develop the image of the Delta College alumni community.

Activities:

Utilize community events to increase exposure.
Provide regular communications.
Make networking opportunities available.
Listing of calendar of events, including Loons game, Cancer Walk, volunteer and other charitable events.

* Foster interaction between alumni and the student body, faculty and staff, making alumni an integral part of the Delta College community.

Visibility at graduation/alumni recognition
Scholarship
Back to campus visits
Q & A with the President
Guest lecture series

* Identify fundraising activities to support Delta College and provide for an ongoing alumni organization.

Activities:

A gift for the 50th anniversary.
Scholarship fundraising.
Alumni charitable event.
Research corporate giving opportunities.
Provide simple contribution mechanisms.

Over 47,000 individuals have graduated from Delta College with either a one-year certificate or a two-year associate degree.  The College has been able to locate over 38,000 of those people.  Currently, about 56 percent of our graduates live in the Tri-County area and 83 percent remain within the state of Michigan.
