Year-Round Pell Grant Ends

During the 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years, many of Delta’s students were eligible for the Year-Round Pell Grant Program. This program offered additional Pell grants to help pay for courses during the Spring-Summer semester to those students who had fully utilized their Pell grant award during the Fall and Winter semesters and met all other eligibility requirements.

Unfortunately, this additional award has been discontinued by the Federal government. If you received the Pell grant for the 2011-12 academic year, but did not attend full-time during both the Fall and Winter semesters, any remaining Pell grant funds will automatically be applied to the Spring-Summer semester. If you used your complete Pell grant award during the Fall and Winter semesters, you will have no remaining Pell grant eligibility during the Spring-Summer semester. If this is the case, you may wish to apply for a Spring-Summer Federal Direct Stafford student loan. The Federal Stafford Loan Application is now available through your MyDelta account under the Financial Aid heading.   Students must be enrolled in six or more credits in order to be eligible to receive a student loan. If you are not interested in a student loan or have already borrowed up to the annual loan limit, the Tuition Payment Plan may be an option for you.
