Remedial coursework prepares a student for study at the postsecondary level. A federal regulation limits the number of remedial course credits that can be considered for financial aid eligibility.
- A maximum of 30 credits of remedial credits can be used to determine enrollment level for federal financial aid purposes.
- Once a student has attempted 30 remedial credits, he/she is not eligible to receive federal aid for remedial courses in future semesters.
- This rule applies whether or not the student received aid for the earlier enrollment in remedial courses.
