If you have financial aid, the amount of financial aid you receive may be dependent on your enrollment status (Full-time is twelve or more credits, three-quarter time is 9 to 11 credits, half-time is 6 to 8 credits, and less than half-time is 1 to 5 credits). Adding or dropping classes during or after the semester refund period can affect your financial aid. If you have made any recent schedule changes, your financial aid may not be immediately updated. Each semester financial aid is transmitted at various intervals, based on the following general guidelines:
- Prior to Payment Deadline:
- Every Tuesday starting three weeks prior to payment deadline
- Every business day starting one week prior to payment deadline
- After Payment Deadline:
- Every business day up to ten days before the start of the semester
- Starting ten days before the first day of the semester, awards are transmitted when registration changes are made.
- You are responsible for paying the TOTAL AMOUNT DUE on your student account by the payment deadline. See important dates.
- Note: If you submitted your FAFSA more than two weeks ago and have not received an e-mail, please visit our office in D101, or e-mail us at finaid@delta.edu, or call us at 989-686-9080.

Total Amount Due From "Sponsor"
Look at the upper right hand corner of your registration statement. If it reads "Total Amount Due from "Sponsor," this means that your balance, or a portion of your balance, is being paid by a third party or Direct Student Loan.
PLEASE NOTE: Changes/adjustments to your schedule could affect your balance at any time
- Verify you have not received an e-mail from Delta’s Financial Aid Office in your Delta e-mail account requesting more information
- Verify that your loan has been approved by viewing your Award Letter (Sample below) through your MyDelta Account.
- Your loan will only hold your classes if you are enrolled in at least 6 or more credits.
- Look in the upper portion of your registration statement. If it shows “Sponsor: DSL”, this means that you have been approved for a loan, verify the amount of your loan (shown on your award letter). If it is greater or equal to the amount on your “Total Amount Due from Sponsor”, Delta is holding your classes pending your loan funds coming in approximately 30 days after classes start. No action needed.
- If the amount on the award letter is less than the amount on your “Total Amount Due from Sponsor”, you will need to pay the difference at the Delta Cashier's Office or your classes will be dropped. NOTE: Stafford Loans net disbursement is 99.5% of the gross loan amount and Federal Direct Plus loans net disbursement is 97.5% of the gross loan amount due to loan fees.
