X1 Building Renovation
This summer the X1 building, which houses equipment and offices related to grounds upkeep and maintenance will be renovated. The building is located on the north side of the campus and was the former Auto Lab Classroom, which is now located in the M Wing. Since the Auto Lab relocated no renovations have been completed on the X1 Building. Tony Khalil along with TSSF Architects and MacMillan Associates are currently in the design process and hope to begin renovations this summer. The building will receive a new roof, siding, and several electrical and mechanical upgrades. Additionally, the interior will be completely redesigned with the conference room, break room, office and restrooms consolidated to one section of the building, providing more floor space to maintain and store equipment. All of the metal siding will be recycled and the new insulation will reduce energy consumption for both the heating and cooling of the building. While the building is under construction the staff will be relocating to one of the other X buildings located just behind the X1 Building.
