Digital Film Production Program
When you complete this certificate, you will have been introduced to many aspects of film production: film aesthetics, screenwriting, filming, and editing. The certificate can also prepare you for further film studies and might help you find work in the film industry. In addition, courses in the certificate also provide a foundation for work in video advertising, videography, and the production of training films.
On completion of this certificate, you will be able to:

Produce pages of an appropriately formatted screenplay.

Demonstrate an ability with character development, plot development, scene development, and dialogue.

Demonstrate the ability to plan a filming project (movie maps, beat sheets, story boarding, etc.).

Demonstrate an ability to analyze the aesthetics of films, both on the writing and filming levels.

Acquire basic understanding of video media acquisition, demonstrate basics of visual composition and become familiar with basic methods and terminology of shooting and editing multimedia.

Comprehend how, when properly used, peripheral multimedia applications can improve the aural and visual aesthetics of a non-linear digital video or film production.

Comprehend and apply basic digital video camera operation and non-linear video and audio editing techniques and demonstrate the ability to combine technique and technology to complete multimedia productions.

Demonstrate an understanding of the history and development of early film styles, shooting and editing techniques by influential individuals in the medium and comprehend how these have influenced modern and popular filmmaking, television and the internet.
