Reading Levels: What Do The Mean?

Have you looked at a course description with a prerequisite that requires a particular "Reading Level?"  Wondered what it meant? 

 Below is a chart that explains what is required at each Reading Level.  If you have any questions or are confused about the requirement, please stop by Counseling Services and speak with your counselor or an advisor.

*IMPORTANT:

If you are in Reading Level 2 and Writing Level 3, you may enroll in ENG 111A at the same time as ENG 097.

If you are in Reading Level 2 and Writing Level 4, you may enroll in ENG 111 at the same time as ENG 097. If you do not pass ENG 097, you will remain in Reading Level 2 and this will prevent you from being able to take ENG 112 as well as some other courses.
