LIT 252, Young Adult Literature

Prerequisite: A "C" grade or better in a college level composition I course. Explores literature written for and about young adults, defined as those students in middle or junior high and high school. Surveys quality trade books, with emphasis on top writers of the best, most engaging literature. Increases awareness of how literature speaks to young adults and engages them in language and learning experiences. Appropriate for general students of literature and those planning to enter careers in secondary education, sociology, psychology, and juvenile justice. (45-0)
