LIT 241, Introduction to Mythology
Prerequisite: A "C" grade or better in a college level composition II course. Provides an introduction to some of the concepts of mythology and the presence of these concepts in art and literature in particular. Considers the functions of mythology, the universality of the journey pattern in all myths, the nature of mythic imagery, the distinction between mythos and logos as patterns in thinking, the approaches available in examining particular myths and the application of all these dimensions in reading a given story.
