ENG 228H, Masterpieces of World Literature: Beginning through 1600s (Honors)

Prerequisite: A "C" grade or better in a college level composition I course or permission of instructor and permission of the Honors Office. Surveys world literature through 1600 that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the masterpieces of the Western tradition. Concentrates on recurring themes, such as a person's relationship to God and nature, individual and social morality, liberty and responsibility, social and economic justice, and the search for a meaningful existence. Provides opportunities to engage in independent intellectual inquiry to foster deeper learning. Credit may be earned in either ENG 228 or ENG 228H, but not in both. (45-0)
