Emergency Food

Service Description: Provides food and some necessary paper products based on the number of people and the number of days needed.
Eligibility: Determined by the network and based on legitimate need and agency referral.
Hours/Availability: 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday
Application: Required DHS.

Baby Food, Formula, and Vouchers

Service Description: Provides a combination of nutrition education and supplemental foods rich with protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A & C.
Eligibility: Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and children ages 5 or younger, based on income guidelines of 185% or less of Federal Poverty Level.
Hours/Availability: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday. Open until 6:30 pm on the second and third Wednesday of each month.
Application: Call for appointment, walk-ins accepted if time available.

Food Stamps & Food Assistance Program

Service Description: Offers Federal Food Assistance Program formerly called Food Stamps. Provides monthly benefits to individuals and families.
Eligibility: All ages based on monthly income and family size.
Hours/Availability: 7:30 am – 12 noon & 1 pm – 5 pm, Monday – Friday. Intake hours are 7:45 am – 10:30 am
Application: Application available.

Nutrition Eductaion & Wise Shopping

Service Description: Provides food and nutrition education to families through home visits and group sessions.
Eligibility: Bay County residents of all ages who qualify for WIC or the DHS Food Assistance Program.
Hours/Availability: Times and dates vary, call for information.
Application: Call or walk in.

Commodity Food

Commodity Supplemental Food Program
Service Description: Provides a monthly distribution of free food.
Eligibility: Must be age 60 or older, a pregnant or postpartum mother not on WIC, or a parent with children under the age of 6 also not on WIC. Must meet income guidelines of 130% of Federal Poverty.
Hours/Availability: Distributes food once monthly, call for dates.
Application: Appointment preferred. No referral necessary.

Temporary Emergency Food Program
Service Description: Provides a quarterly distribution of free food. The state determines which products are available based on current market conditions of surplus.
Eligibility: No age restrictions, income needs to be at 130% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Hours/Availability: Quarterly distributions take place in March, June, August, and December. Call for exact dates.
Application: Appointment preferred. No referral necessary.

Soup Kitchen

Service Description: Provides a free meal to individuals and families in need.
Eligibility: Individuals in need.
Hours/Availability: 11 am – 12:30 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays.
Application: Walk in.

Service Description: Serves a hot meal in the Parish Hall to the community.
Eligibility: All interested.
Hours/Availability: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Sundays
Application: Walk in.

Service Description: Provides dinner on Thursday evenings.
Eligibility: All interested.
Hours/Availability: 5:30 – 6:30 pm on Thursdays. January-June: Meals are served at Messiah. July-December: Meals are served at Westminster.
Application: Call or walk in.
