This year the Bay City/Midland/Saginaw Michigan AIDS Walk will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at Wenonah Park in downtown Bay City. Registration begins at 9:30AM, there will be a rally at 10:30AM, and the walk itself starts at 11:00AM. AIDS Walk Bay City/Midland/Saginaw provides financial support to the HIV/AIDS care program at BASIS, a service of Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center, Inc. For over 20 years, BASIS-Sacred Heart has provided care services to hundreds of men,women,and children living with HIV/AIDS in Arenac, Bay,Gladwin,Midland,Saginaw,Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola Counties. These services include care case management, prescription/dental assistance, housing assistance, food pantry, and prevention education. All services are free and confidential.
If you can participate in the walk: Go to the Bay City/Midland/Saginaw section (which can also be found through going to the main website, Mid-Michigan AIDS Walk, and then clicking on the 'Bay City/Midland/Saginaw' link in the left column). Then click on the "Register Here" button. Follow the easy step-by-step instructions.
If you would like to participate on the Delta College Walk Team: Go to the Bay City/Midland/Saginaw section (which can also be found through going to the main website, Mid-Michigan AIDS Walk, and then clicking on the 'Bay City/Midland/Saginaw' link in the left column). Then click on the "Register Here" button. Make sure that instead of clicking "Start a Walk Team" or "Join as an Individual" that you click "Join a Walk Team" and look for Delta College through the drop box. You will be able to personalize your own individual website, connect to the team page and invite individuals to support you via online donations. There are plenty of flyers and information with the team leaders (Renee Hoppe and Charissa Urbano) and they welcome you to invite everyone to participate in this great event. Everyone who walks with the team will receive an AIDS Walk t-shirt.
If you would like to sponsor a walker: Go to the Bay City/Midland/Saginaw section (which can also be found through going to the main website, Mid-Michigan AIDS Walk, and then clicking on the 'Bay City/Midland/Saginaw' link in the left column). Then click on the "Sponsor Button" button. On the next screen, type in the first and/or last name of the walker you would like to sponsor. Scroll down to that person's name, click on it and then follow the easy step-by-step instructions. You may also give your donation in person to the walker you would like to sponsor.
