LLIC

The Delta College Library, within the Library Learning Information Center(LLIC), is the central focal point for information access:

• The Library Collection includes over 50,000 books, e-books, online databases containing many full-text articles from magazines, journals and newspapers, 297 print periodicals, Government Documents, DVDs, videos, and CDs.
• Research Assistance is offered by Librarians in order to help the public with general questions, to help faculty with professional development research needs, and to help students with assignment questions either in person, online through the Library Web site, or on the telephone at the Reference Desk (989-686-9560).
• The Instruction Room is a centrally located research classroom within the LLIC. The classroom contains 18 computer workstations and offers convenient access to resources both online and in print and all LLIC services. Here the Librarians, along with faculty, teach students how to access, analyze, and use information effectively. Library instruction can be tailored to the needs of each individual class. Scheduling time in the Instruction Room is easy – contact the Librarians at the Library Reference Desk (989-686-9560).
• Interlibrary Loan Service allows staff, students, and members of the community to borrow materials from other libraries.
• Research Guides are lists of sources that help people find information on a variety of topics. Librarians create the lists based on input from students and faculty. The link to Research Guides can be found on the main Library Web page at http://www.delta.edu/library.
• Tutorials are helpful, step-by-step instructions created to help familiarize students and staff with library resources and how to use those resources. The index to a variety of tutorials can be located at: http://www.delta.edu/library/tutorials/index.html.
• Reserve Desk is a service that allows faculty to place their selected materials on “reserve” for student use.
