African American Services

The concept of African American Services is to provide quality learning-centered opportunities to accommodate African American students' needs, access, and success in accordance with Delta College's vision. The educational, social historical, cultural, and spiritual development of people of African descent is a very important aspect of this office.

We provide tutorial referrals, individual or group advising, speaker series information, liaison between students and instructors, workshop schedules, student trips, Black Student Union mentorship and an African American resource library.

Yearly activities include:

• Black History Month
• Martin Luther King Luncheon
• Trip to African American Museum in Detroit
• Renee Rookard Scholarship Luncheon
• Lectures
• Entertainment
• Annual graduation banquet

We provide application and financial aid assistance, transfer information to Black colleges or any college of choice.
