Delta College offers several resources to help you choose the best major and program to match your skills, ambitions and goals.

Counseling/Advising and Career Services offers many resources to assist you in choosing a career path or gathering specific career or labor market information. These resources include computerized career guidance systems with career assessments, career counseling, career advising, group tours and a wide variety of career, labor market, company and college information.  These services are available to students, graduates and the general public.  All services are free of charge.

Although there are classes that can be taken prior to declaring a program, the Career Center has five computerized programs to help you to decide on a program.  The programs are:

  • Eureka Micro Skills Inventory
  • Michigan Occupational Information System ( MOIS )
  • System of Interactive Guidance and Information ( SIGI )
  • eDISCOVER, and
  • Vocational Biographies

These programs offer career assessments to help you identify your interests, personality preferences, work environment preferences, desired educational level, temperaments and values that can influence your long range career satisfaction.  Using these programs will only take an hour or two out of your life, but can make a lifelong difference.

The Career Center also offers a well-stocked library filled with career descriptions, salary surveys, occupational trends, labor market information, and a file with information on every college in Michigan.  Drop by or call today and take advantage of this valuable Delta College resource.
