How do I find software and hardware information about a particular lab?

You can find software and hardware information about a particular lab on the OIT Hardware/Software Database website: http://slt.delta.edu. After you open the website, select the lab from the drop down menu under the "Location Information" and then press "Submit". You will see the software and hardware information for that specific computer lab.

How do I locate PC and Mac Pods in the LLIC?

You can locate PC and Mac Pods in LLIC on the OIT Hardware/Software Database search website: http://slt.delta.edu/search.aspx. After opening the website, you can search Pods by Operating Systems. You can select an Operating System in the "Search by operating system" drop down menu and click "Search!" button.

How do I find the print location of computer Pods in the LLIC?

The LLIC open computer lab contains 10 separate PODs containing specific software and hardware. They are labeled as Pod A-122, Pod A-123, Pod A-124, Pod A-125, Pod A-135, Pod A,Pod B, Pod C, Pod D and Pod E. Pod A-135 has its own HP LaserJet 4250n printer located at this Pod. Pod E has its own HP LaserJet 4250n printer located at this Pod. All other Pods are connected to the 2 HP LaserJet 4015 printers at LLIC Help Desk. Lab assistants are responsible for distributing printouts. Users should pick up their printouts at LLIC Help Desk.

How many pages can I print?

Delta provides computer and printing access solely for academic purposes, and printing is restricted to 150 pages. A pop-up window updates students on the number of pages remaining prior to selecting ‘print’. If you near your quota and believe you may require additional pages, you may submit an appeal at Print Appeal. This print management system applies to all student accessible computers on Delta College’s main campus and centers. This supports Delta’s goal to be eco-friendly, reduce waste and conserve costs including paper and toner supplies.

Can I print in color in the LLIC open computer labs?

Yes. The LLIC open computer lab has a HP Color LaserJet CP4005 printer located at the LLIC Help Desk. Please be aware that color printer should be used when there is an absolute need. If you need to print color, you should ask LLIC lab assistants for help.

How much does printing cost in the LLIC open computer lab?

At present, printing is free in the LLIC open computer labs. Therefore, print jobs should be limited to academic related activities only.

Why can't I find my printouts at LLIC Help Desk?

When you print your documents, you will see another popup window that prompts you for confirmation. Once you click the confirmation, your print jobs will be processed on the print server, and then lab assistants distribute printouts on the LLIC Help Desk counter for you to pick up. Do Not Forget to Click the Print Confirmation Button. If you do not click the second print button, you cannot find your printouts. Please be aware that only One copy is allowed to print at a time. If you select more than one copy at one print, your print jobs will be deleted automatically. In addition, only 16 pages are allowed to print at a time. Since the printers in the LLIC Help Desk have automatic duplex function, you can print 32 pages at one print job. Any Print Job That Has More Than 32 Pages Will Be Deleted Automatically. You can split your print jobs to several times if you have more than 32 pages.

Can I play games in the LLIC open computer labs and classrooms?

No. We do not allow games in the LLIC open computer labs and classrooms unless it is for a class. If your instructor assigns game playing as part of a class we will allow it but you will be asked to provide your instructor's name and the class you are in. Your instructor may then be contacted to verify this. Games slow down the network and take away resources from people trying to engage in academic work.

What kind of help lab assistants provide in the LLIC open computer lab?

Lab assistants help you find printouts, answer your hardware and software questions, connect your station to the color printers, obtain temporary network pass, check in and out transcription tapes, and address lab related problems.

How can I connect my personal laptop to the campus wireless internet?

You can find documentation about how to connect your personal laptop to the campus wireless at http://www.delta.edu/home/oitdirectory/wireless.aspx. After opening the website, you can click the link to Establishing a Connection, and then you will follow the direction based on the Operation System on your personal laptop.

Can I print documents from my personal laptop?

No. In order to print your documents, you should use one of the computers in the LLIC open computer lab.

How can I find a room schedule in academic computer classrooms?

You can find class schedule information at http://schedule.delta.edu . After you open the website, you can click the "Locations" link on the left top corner of the website, and then you can find the room schedule by clicking the room location on the right side region of the website.

How can I configure the Microsoft Outlook on my laptop or home computer to Delta Email?

Below is the documentation that guides you to configure the Microsoft Outlook on your laptop or home computer to Delta Email. You need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the documentation. Read the guideline to connect to Delta College Exchange services off-campus.

What do I have to do use a computer?

You do not need to do anything. You can use any computer in the LLIC open computer lab as long as the computer is available for you. You just need to log in the system with your user name and password.

Why are my prints not coming out?

If you print more than one copy at a time, or your print exceeds 32 pages, the print job is deleted automatically. You should limit your print to one copy and less than 32 pages at a time.

How come my Flash Drive is not showing up?

When you insert your Flash Drive, you do not see a popup window due to the security configuration of the system. However, you can find your Flash Drive inside “My Computer”.
