This course covers the fundamentals of using QuickBooks 2007 to track the finances of a small business. Students will learn how to set up a new company, manage bank account transactions, maintain customer and vendor information, generate reports, and write and print checks. This course covers the features of Microsoft Office 2007 that are new to the Office system. Students will learn about the Microsoft Office button, Ribbon tabs and Ribbon groups, galleries, contextual Ribbon tabs, Live Preview, the Dialog Box Launcher, the Document Information Panel, and the Mini toolbar. Students will also work with the XML file format and the macro and non-macro file formats. This course teaches students the fundamentals of using Internet Explorer 6 to browse and search for Web sites. This course introduces students to using the Favorites folder, the Links Bar, the History list, and searching for Web pages and people by using Auto search and the Search Assistant. Students manage Internet mail and newsgroups by using Outlook Express, use Web content offline, and download Internet files from FTP sites. This course also covers customizing Internet Explorer to suit personal working styles.
