Well implemented objective classification is at the heart of any jail's inmate management operations regardless of its size. Classification is no longer just used to drive housing decisions. A well-implemented system also drives eligibility for programs, privileges and early release/community corrections decisions. Classification data is critical to the development of jail crowding management strategies. Northpointe has been the national leader in developing objective classification instruments and training curriculums for over 20 years.
This one day highly regarded training course is particularly designed for jails that have previously implemented, or considered implementing, one of the two nationally recognized models taught at the National Institute of Corrections - Northpointe's Decision Tree or NCCD's Point Scale instruments. This training targets jails that have new corrections/classification staff that have not been previously trained or veteran staff who would benefit from refresher training and review your current practice. The class will also be useful for managers who oversee the classification operations of the jail, administrators and population managers.
