160 Hour Correction Officer Training Academy

This MSTC Approved 160 Hour Correction Officer Training Academy will include the following areas of instruction:  Booking and Intake; Correctional Law; Cultural Diversity; Custody and Security; Defensive Tactics; Ethics in Corrections; Fire Safety; Interpersonal Communications; Prisoner Behavior; Report Writing; Stress Management; Suicide Awareness; Workplace Harassment; and First Aid/CPR/AED.  Athletic footwear is required during Defensive Tactics.

Course Dates:    October 5 - 9, 12 - 16, 19 - 23, and 26 - 30, 2009

Course Time:    8:00 am to 5:00 pm (one hour lunch break)

Course Location:    Saginaw County Sheriff's Office, 618 Cass Street, Saginaw MI 48602

Course Fee:    $650.00 per person

Course Instructors:    Michigan Sheriff's Coordinating and Training Council approved instructors
